Walls

I know what it feels like
To ride down canyons of adobe walls
Looking at the sun praying for comfort
Watching the hills turn into faces and different places
The only thing that feels right is being horseback
Hooves create a satisfying melody
Being in the saddle is sometimes the only thing
That makes you feel whole
As you drift into a place
To escape from the pain
And the reason for your ways
Wondering when these walls will turn into tulips
And the sun will glisten you in gold
Praying for someone to come love you
But, sometimes those adobe walls
Are the best of your friends
And sometimes those canyons
Will help you climb anything
And, maybe just maybe
The universe is waiting to send you
Someone worthy of your loving
