Changing Lives, One Purchase at a Time - Western Horse & Gun Magazine

With the holiday spirit filling the air, this time of year is all about giving thanks and giving back. But for some companies, the season never stops - through their work, employee initiatives, and volunteer programs, they find ways to make serving their communities a year-round mission. From monetary donations to product and customer involvement, these three companies go above and beyond to change or rebuild the lives of individuals, families and animals. Giving, that’s something we do in this beautiful country. And, it goes beyond more than a dollar amount. Giving isn’t about money but rather the love, unity and impact it has on communities.

            Tito's Handmade Vodka

Tito’s Handmade Vodka, one of Austin Texas’s oldest legal distilleries, not only takes pride in providing spirit connoisseurs delicious and high-quality liquor, but is also on a mission to rescue, protect and unite dogs while creating a loving community with families, dog lovers and companies. Since day one, dogs have been part of Tito’s Handmade Vodka. When Tito Beveridge was just establishing his business, he would be at the distillery with his dog Jo, a white shepherd-mix. Jo’s food would attract other dogs in which Tito would help the strays by spaying/neutering along with providing them a new home. As the business grew, Tito met Beth Bellanti, who shared Tito’s mutual love for pets, and she spearheaded Vodka for Dog People (VFDP) to unite with friends, fans  and partners to better the lives of pets and their families far and wide. In addition, Beth introduced Tito’s to Emancipet in Austin. Now for fifteen years, VFDP is proud to continue partnering with Emancipet and many other organizations across the country like Austin Pets Alive and the ASPCA, all on a mission to rescue and protect the pets that cross their paths. Additionally, VFDP is always looking for new ways to give back to the community. Fetch Park Atlanta, Miranda Lambert’s Mutt Nation charity and the first Austin Dog Yearbook project by Ruff Adventures are just a few events that they will be involved in. As the holiday season is approaching, Tito’s Handmade Vodka is getting into the giving spirit with the perfect present for the vodka lover in your life and their furry friend: a limited-edition Tito’s Holiday Sweater. Pets will not only look adorable in them but the sweaters give back to nonprofits across the country! The exclusive sweaters will be available for purchase at titosvodka.com/store starting December 1, 2017 at $15 for dog sweaters and $25 for human sweaters. The net proceeds from the sweaters go straight to a selection of Tito’s nonprofit web partners
